Congratulations to Clyde on passing the milestone of 10000 posts! (Posts only are counted since the start of the present forum in 2014, so we should add some large number for several years of emails before that.)

It takes only a day or two watching the forum to appreciate the breadth and depth of Clyde's expertise and energy in covering a great range of questions on Stata and statistics -- and in guiding members of all levels from neophyte and newbie to tyro and techie. He also helps, less visibly but crucially, behind the scenes: I have often been guided by his advice in tweaking the FAQ.

Clyde was the first person here to get any orange bars in his profile. The precise rules for orange bars remain utterly obscure, but that alone is a secure place in the history of Statalist.

Clyde hasn't gotten there with a bunch of one sentence posts, either. His answers are generally quite detailed.

He is also quite patient. When I see a garbled message that doesn't use code tags, I generally ignore it or tell them to repost. But Clyde deciphers it and gives an answer anyway.

He is also quite patient with people who need more help -- including people who need more help because they didn't do what he told them to do in the first place.

Great job, Clyde. You are a great asset to the board.

I am steadily impressed by Clyde's ability in making difficult things clear (and to my shame it is not only a matter of mother tongue!).
