Repeated pleas for help probably won't inspire anyone to reply, instead I recommend showing the code for the tabulations you describe exporting via -putexcel- (the 1 way that worked and the two-way version that failed) and asking for advice for fixing your code.

You're in luck though - this stata blog entry details exactly how to go about exporting a 2 way tabulation to excel including the row and col headers/labels:

          http://blog.stata.com/2013/09/25/exp...bles-to-excel/

Also, -tabout- from SSC is a great (and IMO more straightforward) option for exporting one and two-way tabulations with control over the labels, headers, and formatting.

There is also a new series on The Stata Blog which started yesterday (http://blog.stata.com/2017/01/10/cre...nd-formatting/) by Chuck Huber. This is very well written, especially for new users like myself and I look forward to the rest of this series
