Hi all,
I've written up a simple guide to installing Stata with Windows on Amazon EC2 - please see the attached link. My goal is to walk first-time cloud users through the specific steps needed to get going, because I was not able to find anything like this already on the web. I think this should really reduce the barrier to entry for cloud computing and help researchers get long-running or memory-intensive analysis off of their laptops and onto cloud hardware.
I have only been able to try this out from my Mac laptop, so if there are any improvements to the instructions that could be made for Windows users I'd be glad to incorporate those. I'm also planning to add in some screenshots and/or a screencast when I have a chance. Any other suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated as well.
Cheers,
Chris
