I've read several papers and textbooks about regression discontinuity, which specifies the need to conduct the balance test to make sure that the individual characteristics are balanced across the discontinuity in treatment status. One of such approaches is to run the same RD regression with the characteristics as dependent variable. But there is no detailed introduction about how to conduct this test in fuzzy RD context. That is, am I supposed to use the 2SLS to run the regression, or just the reduced-form model?
