  • outreg2 in Stata 13

    Dear Statalists:

When running outreg2 in Stata 13 I cannot add variable labels. When adding the label option I get the following error: "too few quotes". If I type labels("") it works ok but labels are not added.

Any idea how I could export the table in tex with labels using outreg2 or a similar command?

    Thank you again.
    All the best,
    Guillem

outreg2 (SSC) is user-written. Please read the Advice in the FAQ to see that you are asked to explain this.

Also, you don't give the full and exact code that you used (after which commands?, too). Please read the Advice in the FAQ to see that you are asked to give this.

I don't use it, so I have no story for you. It's a popular program judging by download data, so others may be able to help.

Thank you for your response, Nick.

The code is the following, which according to the help files is correct:

      any regression
      outreg2 using reg, replace label

I have used this before plenty of times with previous versions of Stata and had no problems, only happens when using v.13.

Out of curiosity, Nick, do you use esttab? I cannot find a way to give me a nice output with multivariate logit regression in pdf...

      Thank you again,
      Guillem

No; I don't use esttab (SJ, SSC). Of commands in this territory that suite by Ben Jann and outreg (SJ, SSC) by John Gallup are well written commands by Stata programmers I respect highly. I just don't use them. (My work only rarely leads me to compose tables of that sort, and when it does I tend to write my own code.)

And the advice to explain where user-written commands come from still stands!

          Hi,
I will like to install outreg2 in version 13 but I keep getting the following message when I type ssc install outreg2

          .ssc install outreg2
connection timed out -- see help r(2) for troubleshooting
          http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/o/ either
          1) is not a valid URL, or
          2) could not be contacted, or
          3) is not a Stata download site (has no stata.toc file).
          r(2);

          Can anyone help me out?

          Stephen

It's still there. If you continue to get problems, check

            Code:
            help netio
