  • Broken access to ssc install options

    Hi,

    I've been having troubles running installing ado files through the ssc install command. For example, if I try to install use13 (happens to all others as well), I get the following error:

    . ssc install use13
    unexpected end of file
    http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/u/ either
    1) is not a valid URL, or
    2) could not be contacted, or
    3) is not a Stata download site (has no stata.toc file).
    r(612);

    Do you have an idea of why this might be for and how can I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advanced,

    JR

    I had no problem just now. Like any other site SSC occasionally goes down, in which case just try again later.

      It's been like this for more than a month. Started crashing all of a sudden. I re-installed the package and tried with previous versions and still doesn't work. The most similar discussion I've seen is this: http://www.stata.com/statalist/archi.../msg00756.html - Still doesn't help me solve it though.

        I thought you were complaining about ssc install. Is that still true?

        Or are you now reporting a problem with use13? If the latter, you need to start a new thread with that in the title, or contact the author, who is a member here too.

        I've never used use13, so couldn't comment further.

          No, you are right, the problem is with ssc install. use13 was an example. When I said re-installed the package, I meant I re-installed Stata.

            For systems crashes, you need to talk to your systems people, or StataCorp Technical Support, or both.
