  • Delete a duplicated post?

I got an error when uploading my post so I reposted it. It turns out it was already there. Is there a way to delete one of them?

I think we've determined that the 2nd or later post in a thread can be edited or deleted if you move quickly enough (within an hour).

But, the post that starts a thread can't be deleted, although again it can be edited if you move fast.

If you have accidentally started 2 or more identical threads, I would suggest editing the duplicate threads if possible and adding a link to the thread that you actually want used. Or, if too late to edit, add another post that says "Sorry, duplicate thread" with a link to the thread you want. Otherwise you get people posting in each thread and you get wasted or duplicated effort.

Incidentally, I have found that, error messages or not, my posts almost always go through. Before assuming yours did not, open a 2nd Statalist tab or window and see if your post made it.

Is there any possibility to delete the first post in a thread? I am new to Statalist and also got an error message when posting. I thus re-posted and now have various duplicates of my question.
