  • setting STATATMP environment variable in Windows 7

I am trying to set the STATATMP environment variable in Windows 7 so my tempfiles are saved there, but it doesn't seem to work.

I followed the instructions for Windows Vista in the penultimate bullet of http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/da...ment-variable/ which results in this:

But even after rebooting Windows 7, the directory does not change:

Is there a different procedure for Windows 7?

    David,

Please make sure that the STATATMP path exists on the filesystem, else the variable assignment will fail and Stata will fall back to the standard tempfile path as you describe.

      Pete,

Thank you for the suggestion , but the path does exist on the file system. Any other ideas?

        David,

One of our developers noticed something I did not, remove the double quotes from the path (in the environment variable definition) and all should be well.
