  • Labeling specific observations in a scatterplot

Hello, I have a large dataset (GPI Index, methodology/data on the link), and I'm trying to get a scatterplot of two overall GPI scores (overall2014, overall2010) for each country with labels, but given that there are too many countries, labeling every observation with mlabel(country) makes it unreadable. I only need to show some of the countries' names on the graph, and I can't get a hold of the label command to make it do this.

I also have an unrelated problem -- I tried to work on the graph by editing it from the window rather than with stata commands, but stata crashes every time I try to click on Graph Editor. I'm using StataSE on a MacBook Pro late 2011 with OSX Yosemite.

    Thank you for your help.

A ground-breaking milestone in the study of peace. For the first time, an Index has been created that ranks the nations of the world by their peacefulness and identifies some of the drivers of that peace.
