  • Statalist Members Profile Search

I was wondering if there is a way one can browse or search for members profiles and areas of interest. This is important for new users if they want look for senior members and their individual websites where helpful material in form of Stata codes and lectures can be found.

Check out my asdoc program, which sends outputs to MS Word.
For more flexibility, consider using asdocx which can send Stata outputs to MS Word, Excel, LaTeX, or HTML.

There is a Search window in front of me as I type this. I don't know a way to instruct the forum software to focus on members' profiles. But on the whole -- from what I have seen -- members' profiles here are fairly sparse.

The majority of very active Stata user-programmers publish their code through SSC or the Stata Journal or GitHub. Similarly presentations at the Stata Conference or Users' Meetings are generally accessible via www.stata.com. The UCLA website remains one of the most impressive resources on Stata.

People will be able to cite exceptions and I can think of some, but to a good first approximation the resources you seek are centralised, not dispersed.

I created my own customized search engine, which seems to work better than the site's own search engine:

      https://www.google.com/cse/publicurl...12:346eljrq-8c

If you ask it to search for profile, the profiles for several members show up.

How useful or detailed those profiles are, I don't know.

If senior members or anyone else wants people to be able to find out more about their work, I suggest they include a link in their signature, like I do.
