Nick Cox and I are pleased to draw your attention to the "Stata Journal Editors’ Report (articles and tips)" published open access in the latest issue of the Stata Journal: see https://doi.org/10.1177/1536867X261425740. Here are the opening 2 paragraphs:
Most journals provide an annual report about the number of submissions received, times to first and final decision, and acceptance rates. Such information is valuable for potential submitters and other readers and helps identify areas for potential improvement, for example, decision times. This article is the inaugural report for the Stata Journal, and we aim to provide a similar report annually.
The report refers to submissions of articles and tips received during 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25. We use an academic year time frame, meaning October 1st through September 30th, a definition that reflects the country of domicile of the Editors (United Kingdom). The report does not consider “Speaking Stata” columns or Editors’ Prize announcements (written by the Editors) or book reviews (typically commissioned by the Editors).
