r(679) Error while updating documentation files on Statanow/Mp 19.5 for MAC

Hi. I installed Statanow/MP for Mac 19.5 . It updated the utility files and executable files without an issue. But I got r(679) error while updating documentation both times. How can I sort this issue out? I am Mac M4 Pro user ( recently purchased) was Stata user on HP/Windows. I am not a highly technical person. I would very much appreciate if you could point me in the right direction avoding very technical terms as much as possible. Thank you.

679 is not a documented error. I would try again. If the problem recurs get in touch with whoever sold you your copy of Stata for support.

This also happened to me very recently. Restarting my computer and then trying to update again fixed the problem.

r(679) error is a network transfer error that can't be mapped to a Stata-defined return code. Please contact Stata technical support so that they can help you get the real network transfer error and troubleshoot the problem.

I have the same problem. When downloading documentation files I get the error r(679)

Did you find a way to resolve the problem.

We appreciate everyone's patience in this matter; the failed downloads appear to have been triggered by a change with our proxy service. Settings within the service have been adjusted and we believe the issue is now resolved.

Any update? I am getting this error while trying to import a file from Google Drive (though it works in other cases). My Stata was purchased by the university

I tried again this morning (June 30, 2026) and it worked perfectly on the first try.
