  • Setting up Stata Automation in Windows 11

I am setting up Stata (18.5, parallel edition) on a Windows 11 machine using the Stata Automation library as described at: https://www.stata.com/automation/. I am able to successfully install a Stata Automation object using the instructions listed under 3.1 for Windows Vista, however this requires me to use local admin privileges on the machine. Is it possible to configure without requiring local admin privileges? The command line approach described runs without error but does not appear to create a Stata Automation object.

Unfortunately, registering Stata Automation Object requires local admin privileges. You might want talk to your system administrators to see if they could allow it.

Thank you for clarifying, Hua. I will follow up with our IT department- I know they are generally resistant to providing local admin privileges, but I will see if it's possible to identify an exception for this use case.
