  • Meta analysis with non- independent effects size within studies

I am conducting a meta-analysis using Stata to analyze correlation coefficients (Pearson's r) as my effect sizes. In my dataset, several studies report more than one effect size resulting in non-independent effect sizes within these studies.

Given this, I am encountering difficulties running meta correlation commands because I am not able to inform the program that effect sizes are nested within studies. Does anyone have suggestions on how to accommodate this nested structure of the data within the Stata meta-analysis framework?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Nikita

Nikita, hi. If possible, provide us with an example of your dataset.
