    Final Call: 2024 Northern European Stata Conference

    The 2024 Northern European Stata Conference will be held in Oslo, Norway, at Oslo Cancer Cluster Innovation Park on Tuesday 10 September 2024.

    This conference will provide Stata users with the opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, and information on new applications of Stata.

    Representatives from StataCorp will attend and host an open-panel discussion, so you can share your questions and feedback directly with Stata developers. Anyone interested in using Stata is welcome.

    Abstracts should be sent by email no later then 15 August 2024 to [email protected]

    Presentation topics may include

    • using Stata for modeling and analysis,
    • discussions of community-contributed Stata commands,
    • using Stata to import and manage data,
    • using Stata for graphics,
    • teaching Stata or teaching statistics with Stata,
    • Python integration,
    • software comparisons, and
    • surveys or critiques of Stata in specific fields.

    Indicate whether you would like to give

    • a 20-minute talk (followed by a 10-minute discussion),
    • a 10-minute talk (followed by a 5-minute discussion), or
    • some other presentation.

    Paul C Lambert, Improving the speed and accuracy when fitting flexible parametric survival models on the log hazard scale
    Representatives from StataCorp:
    Kristin MacDonald, Executive Director, Statistical Services at StataCorp.

    Kristin has been with Stata since 2006. Her primary responsibilities include Stata documentation, statistical aspects of marketing, and coordination of Stata training. She also collaborates with Stata developers, especially in design and documentation of commands for structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, item response theory, and causal inference. Kristin holds a master's degree in statistics from Texas A&M University.

    Chinh Nguyen, Vice President, Software Design.

    Chinh has been with StataCorp since 1994. His primary responsibility is to oversee nonstatistical and interface development of Stata. He is the primary developer of Stata for Mac and Stata for Unix and is an active participant in developing Stata for Windows. Chinh has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Texas A&M University.
