I have city-level data on expected future climate hazard frequency (future_haz_freq_codes), which is coded as follows: 0 indicates a decrease, 1 uncertainty, and 2 an increase. I want to aggregate this data to generate a country-specific perception of future climate hazard frequency. Kindly see my data below:
I use the command "egen country_future_haz_freq_codes = mean(future_haz_freq_codes), by(country)" to aggregate the future risk perceptions at the city level. Is this a proper aggregation mechanism? I have a country-level Co2 emissions (emis) which is not provided here, and I want to see the effect of country_future_haz_freq_codes on emis. How should I interpret the coefficient? Your suggestions are crucial in this regard. Thank you!
