  • Offset confidence intervals for estat effectsplot after mediate

Hi, I am using mediate command in Stata 18. I generate a postestimation effects plot for the total effect (te), natural direct effect (nde), and natural indirect effect (nie) as per example 10 in https://www.stata.com/manuals/causalmediate.pdf.

However, the confidence intervals overlap, making them difficult to see.

I am wanting to stagger/offset the marker points as per the figure below. Any ideas?

You will likely need to extract the data and replot with twoway. See https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf...867X0700700112 for how to offset the confidence intervals. For graphs created by marginsplot, you should look at

    Code:
    ssc desc mplotoffset
I don't use the command, so I do not know if it works here. Finally, I appreciate that you refer to an example in the manual, but you compel those willing to help you to open the manual and find the example that you are referring to. You should post the example here to increase your chances of getting helpful replies.
