Stata on the AWS: Which is better, 1) Stata on the Amazon SageMaker, or 2) Stata on Amazon EC2?
We have been advancing some research projects in economics at the university, using mostly Stata, but also R and Python in some projects, which are currently running on the Amazon EC2 cloud computing platform. We decided to use Stata on the Amazon EC2 since it provides a similar working environment with the on-premise server, which we have used before the migration from on-premise to the AWS cloud computing environment.
Recently, Stata drives forward the integrated use of Stata and Python, as everyone knows, Stata can be invoked from a standalone Python environment via the PyStata Python package and in the IPython kernel-based environment. Moreover, the AWS provides a cloud computing platform, Amazon SageMaker, in which we can use both Python and R on the AWS cloud computing platform. Then, I am uncertain about which one to choose.
1) Stata on Amazon SageMaker
2) Stata on Amazon EC2
Any comments and suggestions are welcome!
