  • PPMLHDFE function returned error after iteration; FixedEffects::post(): 3499 plural() not found

    Dear All,

I am currently try to run a regression via the ppmlhdfe command. After 12 iterations I get the error as posted below.

    FixedEffects::post(): 3499 plural() not found
    <istmt>: - function returned error

I use stata 13.0. for Mac.

May anyone know how to fix this issue?

For some more context: about three years ago I run a lot of regressions of a gravity model via the ppmlhdfe command.
All without this error and with results that were satisfactory.

I tried to replicate these results with the same data and commands I used then. And get the same error. So there must be an underlying problem in the program.

PS: Simple ppml do work while reghdfe does also not work: error occurred while loading reghdfe.ado

    thank you!

    Best, Stefan

    Dear Stefan Anton,

Please make sure that you have up-to-date versions of ppmlhdfe, reghdfe, and ftools, and let us know if that solves the problem.

    Best wishes,

    Joao

      Dear Joao Santos Silva,

thank you for your fast response!

I have checked for the up-to-date version as posted in gighub by Sergio correia. https://github.com/sergiocorreia/ppmlhdfe

Unfortunately, it did not work. After unistall and install ppmlhdfe, reghdfe, and ftools I got the same error by running the test regression. By checking the version of the ppmlhdfe and the required packages everything looks fine.

      Best,
      Stefan
