When ID Variables are not exactly the Same: Advices/Help needed to do a "Fuzzy Match"

Hi everyone,

I need to make a fuzzy match between two data sets. The ID variables to be matched are not exactly the same.
Then, with this merge, I'll have to match other datasets where the variables to be matched don't match equally since they come from different sources.

For now, I have a question. I'll probably ask you for empirical help once immersed in the matching process:

• I've seen that there are several commands on stata to do this. In particular, I know about -matchit- (from SSC) and -reclink2- (from Stata Journal - https://www.stata-journal.com/articl...article=dm0082).
• Would you have any advice/preferences for either command? Or would you possibly have a better alternative?
