  • Drop multiple frames at once

    Hi all,

Do any of you know under what circumstances the frame drop command permits multiple frames to be dropped at once. For instance, I have two frames with names foo and bar. Neither is the current frame. I should be able to drop them both with frame drop foo bar, and have so done other times. I have done it successfully on Stata 17 and 18. Now I am trying to do the same on Stata 17.0 on a different computer (an Azure virtual machine, for what it's worth), and it returns an error ('bar' found where nothing expected). Has anyone experienced this before?

    Thanks,
    Noah

I can't reproduce on Stata 17 or 18, but I can reproduce on an old version of Stata 16. It's possible your installation is a bit out of date.

Thanks, Daniel. Unfortunately, I don't have privileges to update Stata on this machine, but I agree that is a plausible culprit.

The ability to drop multiple frames was introduced at some point after version 17 was first released, if I recall correctly.
