Conducting mediation analysis with endogenous X

Hi,

I am using Hayes' PROCESS Model 4 to conduct a mediation analysis (X -->M, M-->Y, X--> Y). My X is endogenous and I have a valid IV, can I do the following?

1. First Stage (for the endogenous X):
   • Predict X using the instrument(s). Obtain X (hat).
2. Mediation Analyses:
   • Examine the effect of X(hat) on the mediator M.
   • Examine the combined effect of X (hat) and M on Y

Is this the right approach to insert 2SLS into a mediation analysis? Is there an article that I can refer to about this?
