  • Exporting STATA imputed dataset to MPLUS?

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any insight/experience in exporting a dataset imputed in STATA (~200 imputations) to be analyzed in MPLUS?

I have previously exported my STATA datasets to Mplus using the stata2mplus command; however, I am not sure if this command is also appropriate for imputed datasets.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

ps: I have been running the imputations since last night, and I am just waiting for them to finish running so that I can start implementing different codes to export. I am trying to research ahead to be more productive. Thank you!

I don't have experience with imputation within Mplus, but if you are separately generating imputed datasets in Stata, say, then I think you would then want to analyze each of them (M= ~200) in Mplus. You'll need to decide how to analyze those results. Mplus may not be fruitful since imputations were performed external to that program. However, you could write a Stata program to read in those Mplus results and use appropriate Rubin's rules to pool results. Having done a similar thing with Monte Carlo experiments, this process is a pain.
