  • How to put experiment data in the same order?

    Dear All,

I am working with a data set that includes several experiments.
The experiment of my interest includes six different news articles, each with different treatments.
The respondents were divided into six different treatment groups for this purpose. The variable "expCE50470" shows a unique group allocation that was used for all articles. The respondents always remain in one group, but groups receive different treatments for each item. Respondents thus always remained in the same group, but which group saw which version of the article was different in each case.

However, for the implementation, the groups that received different treatments have to be put in the same order to allow a comparison between the articles and treatments.

    To illustrate:
Respondents had to indicate on a scale of 1-11 how sure they are that the information shown is correct.
One of the treatments was to see the source of the news compared to "no source".

To test what difference it makes to be able to see the source, I would first have to generate a new group for each article, but all in the same order.

How does this work with the additional experiment variable?

I tried a lot with the generate command but it does not work and I am at the limit of my understanding.
Many thanks in advance for any helpful tips!

You'll have a much better chance in getting a helpful answer promptly if you post an example of your data using the -dataex- command, as described in the StataList FAQ that new members are asked to read. (See especially section 12.2.) Even very experienced users find it hard to effectively describe a data structure with words alone.
