Mcenter command

Dear all,

I run an OLS model with some interaction terms and my mean VIF is 9.3. If I use "mcenter" command it will be considered as manipulation of my data or it is legal?

It won't fix the VIF.

Thank you for your response. However, if I use the mcenter command while I construct the interaction terms I see that the VIF value is reducing. Is this legal to use or I not?

centering or standardizing is not a problem, but make sure you think about that when you interpret the results, compute margins, etc...
