  • Descriptive statistics for categorial variables

    Hello,

My dataset includes 14 categorical variables and 4 continuous variables. I need to get a summary table for frequencies, percentages, and mode for categorial, in addition to the mean and SD for continuous. I tried doing this from the menu i got too many variables error. can anyone help with the best way to do this? thank you.

    welcome to this forum.
As per FAQ, posters are kindly requested to share what they typed and what Stata gave them back. Thanks.
This way, the chances of getting helpful replies increase.
    See -tabstat-.
In addition, I'm not aware of any Stata command that calculates the mode of a given random variable.
    Kind regards,
    Carlo

There are commands to produce modes, but the overwhelming issue for categorical variables is that modes are often not well defined given ties.
