  • xtpoisson eliminates zeros for dependent count variables

What am I missing? Why is xtpoisson dropping the observations in my panel analysis (states year) that are zeros? I am trying to predict the count of candidates that choose a particular jurisdiction for professional licensing. What model should I use so my zero observations are not eliminated? Or is there an option that I need to specify?

You can't delete a post once you have placed it. You can, in the first hour after posting, edit it. You could, for example, have just deleted what you originally wrote and written something like what I wrote in #2. But deleting posts is not possible with the Forum software.

This is explained at https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#closure All members of the forum are asked to read this document before posting.

Being able to delete posts would have some advantages, as when duplicates are posted by mistake, but it is also open to abuse. For example, some people have wanted to post questions and then delete them afterwards because they had the answer they wanted or were embarrassed by the question. The first misses the point of a technical forum. as does the second, in a different way. Whatever your preferences, the administrators at StataCorp withdrew scope to delete posts unilaterally.

A point that remains is the longstanding request to use real full names, as explained in detail at https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#realnames and https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#adviceextras #3
