Reducing the size of a bar graph

Is any help available on how to reduce the width of a bar graph after using the command?

graph bar (mean) var1 var2

Doesn't the option -bargap()- do this? A larger gap between bars implies narrower bars.

graph bar (mean) var1 var2, bargap(30)
