Stata 18 and Statalist

With the most welcome release of Stata 18, the FAQ Advice has as is customary been tweaked slightly. Members are please asked to take special care to flag the version they are using if it seems possible that answers depend on the version being used.

Is it common to tweak the FAQ like this when the new Stata comes out?

Absolutely. We look for details that need to be changed, but they are, or should be, unsurprising.

I think that some members who are still using older versions of Stata will not know whether answers will depend on the version being used. So to Nick's tweak of the FAQs I would add: "If unsure, mention your version."
