I am conducting research on private equity markets and I have a dataset that contains cash flows of the respective funds. I would like to calculate the present value of these cashflows but do not know how to proceed.
My dataset would look something like that:
fundid vintageyear transaction_date transactionamount adjclose
1 01jan1993 15may1994 -538830 .
1 01jan1993 15nov1994 10526 -.00216722
1 01jan1993 14feb1995 -1157894 -.00216722
1 01jan1993 15may1995 -464342 .00186856

Vintage year is the inception year of the fund and transactiondate is the date that the cashflows were realized. Adjclose are the daily returns of the market, and based on that I calculated the days difference between vintageyear and transactiondate to discount my cashflows accordingly. Any idea on how to proceed with the calculation of the present value?
