  • Discrete choice analysis

    Hi all,

I have conducted a discrete choice experiment for my thesiswith Qualtrics and now I have to analyse the data. Using Stata has been a while so i'm kind off lost. My goal is to calculate the willingness to pay of my respondents for meat substitutes. The dataset contains 10 discrete choice questions with 3 alternatives and an opt-out option (every respondent answers 8 of these random).

The DCE consists of 3 attributes:
1: Production method: 4 levels: conventional (base), plant_based, cultured, hybrid.
2: Origin: 3 levels: imported, netherlands, regional.
    3: Price: 5 levels (10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20)

    My utility function would be:

I want to derive these coefficients like this:

And after I want to derive these coefficients for certain groups using sociodemographic questions that were used in the survey.

    My dataset looks like this:

Question 1: How can I properly include the opt-out option into my dataset?
Question 2: I have tried using asclogit but I can't seem to get the command right.

If someone could guide me to the right direction with the commands and understanding it would be great.

    Thank you!!
Working...
