  • Statistical Power

    Dears,

    I have a simple OLS regression y=a+bx+...+e
How can I calculate the statistical power of my model with and without controls? What are the Stata commands?

Apologies for this question, but i really don't know how to do it in stata...

    Thank you,
    Gabriele

    Gabriele:

thank you Carlo, I can read the instruction manual myself. The point is that I don't understand the commands there...

You might find the -power- command easier to use via the graphical user interface. Launch Stata, and from the toolbar select the Statistics drop-down menu. Then pick "Power, precision and sample size." (You may have to scroll down to find that one.) Then select according to the specifics of your model.

          Gabriele:
I obviously assumed that you were able to skim through the manual yourself (see for example, the worked out examples in -power rsquared- entry).
Getting yourself familiar with the commands is totally up to you and the time you want to devote to self-learning.
Unfortunately, this is something that we all experienced/experience.
          Kind regards,
          Carlo
