  • Difference Indifference Analysis

Dear All, For the purpose of my study, I am using household level data for Indian Economy over two time span (2016, 2019). There are some groups of household who are Below Poverty line(BPL) and non BPL. The government has adopted certain policies on 2017 only for BPL households to encourage use of clean fuels. In order to see the effectiveness of the policy, I want to perform a DID test. While my outcome variable is categorical( clean / non clean fuel consumption). My questions are: 1)Can I perform DID with dependent categorical variable? 2) My treatment group is BPL 2019 household(who have accessed to clean fuel only in 2019) however my control should be non BPL 2016, non BPL 2019, BPL 2016 households using non clean fuel. Is this correct? or I should also incorporate other groups like BPL household and non BPL households who used clean fuel during 2016.
