  • Denton Method error



    When I try

    denton a453rc using temp7, interp(concap) from(temp.dta) generate(a453rc_mthly)

    it reads that

    (768 real changes made)
    a453rc_mthly is interpolated from the quarterly series a453rc using the monthly series concap
    a453rc_mthly is saved in temp7 for the period: 1959m1 to 2022m12


    but temp7 looks like this. So the interpolation didnt happen

    The issue might stem from the scale of the variables. Do you get the same issue if you make the following adjustments before running denton?

    replace concap = concap/1e6
    replace a453rc = a453rc/1e6
    Note: denton is from ssc.

      yes that worked thank you! I dont think that the low frequency value has to be small, but it appears that reducing the high frequency value solves this error
