Transformation of multiple log variables

I have multiple categorical variables from raw data from excel. I need to convert all of these to log variables. Is there a shortcut to do this?

The problem you have is not so much Stata but conceptual: Taking a logarithm of a categorical variable makes no sense.

I tend to agree (strongly) with Maarten Buis, but if you think he's wrong or missing your point, then I think we need a data example and a story for why it makes sense.

Sorry guys, I did not mean categorical variables- this was my mistake. I have found the answer now, thanks for the prompt replies.
