Using ordinal qualitiative variable as a moderating variable in a panel data analysis

I am trying to create an ordinal variable for a panel data analysis and will be using this variable interacted with a continuous variable as a moderating variable. I would love if anyone can give an example of how the ordinal variable will look like as this is a panel data analysis with both year and Cross sectional units different from the usual cross sectional analysis where qualitative variables are usually being used. My conviction is that the variable is going to be time invariant but will also love to see a related example using stata data
