Generating number of siblings and number of female siblings in an household

Hi everyone,

I am trying to generate two different variables;

1. Number of siblings a child has in a household
2. Number of female siblings a child has in a household

By definition of a child, I am focusing on individuals in a household that are not older than 16 years.

How can I go about this regarding commands to use?

I am glad to share further information if needed.

it's impossible to help you with the information you provided. share example data with -dataex- (check out help dataex in Stata) and the code you used to accomplish your goal.

the original poster (OP) should be glad to share the largest amount in hand that can help interested listers help her/him out from the very start.
Adding information a chunk at a time (or "by instalments", as we say in Italian) is wasting everybody's time.
Please note that is OP's own interest to behave as above, as potentially interested listers cal well live without replying to her/his post.
