question about the Variables Window?

When I run the order commands find that there is no change in the Variables Window.What's wrong with this?

sys use auto,clear
order make length

it works for me (note, by the way, that there is a typo in your first command - "sysuse" is one word) - maybe you need to give us some more info

here is the picture.After I run the order command ,the order of the varlist in the Variables Window does not change.

I have updated my Stata to the latest. Maybe there is bugs in the latest version.

I cannot tell, but I does not seem so from this end, as my copy of Stata is fully updated, as per this evening's check:

Raymond Zhang note in your variable window, the variables are sorted on the column "Name". Note the downward arrow by the "Name". Remove that by clicking on "Name" should give you the order you desire.
