Merge based on partial match

I want to merge two datasets based on three variables, id, begin date, end date. I want to merge together observations that have the same id, and either the same begin date or same end date. Can this be implemented?

It seems like you have been repeatedly advised to provide sample data in your questions using -dataex-:

Perhaps consider follow those recommendations. And show your sample data. Your current question will unlikely get any reply because it will take way more time to clarify with you than just draft some possible codes for you to try.

Thanks Ken, I have been ignoring these advices because I can not provide a data sample. The data is on a server and also protected by privacy law.

If your dataset is confidential, then provide a fake example instead.
