  • comparing bayesian models with WAIC

    Hi Stata Users,

the Watanabe-Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) is a good choice for comparing bayesian models. Unfortunately it is not computed using Win or OpenBUGS. Both programs can be launched from Stata and their results can be loaded in Stata.
I believe (I am not an expert) that it should be possible to compute the WAIC by using the results after fitting a bayesian model with Win or OpenBUGS.
My specific aim is to compare models used in disease mapping: poisson-gamma, conditional autoregressive, Besag-York-Molliè

Do anyone know if there is a way or a program for computing the WAIC after fitting two or more Bayesian models?

    Best wishes.
    Enzo
