  • Where is the dta file for math scores of pupils in the third and fifth years from different schools in Inner London (Mortimore et al. 1988)

I apologize for asking this question because I assume I am missing something obvious. Many Stata examples use data from Mortimore et al. 1988. But I cannot find the dta file on Stata. I located the mjsps5.dta file for the data but with missing values. Can someone point me to the file without missing values?

If that's the case, can you point to one such example? I have found the manuals to be very explicit about where datasets arise and any modifications made to them. Sometimes though, it may be that the same dataset gets used over multiple consecutive examples and the dataset is changed along the way, so you may need to look at earlier examples.

It would also be helpful to include a full and proper reference to the study you refer to so that others can more easily search for the reference and dataset, should they be inclined.

It's featured in -mi estimate- and if you go into the PDF version of the technical document, the data are taken from: Mortimore, P., P. Sammons, L. Stoll, D. Lewis, and R. Ecob. 1988. School Matters. Berkeley, CA: University of California Press.

I don't know if the original can be accessed through webuse.

A glance at the manual suggests

        Code:
        use https://www.stata-press.com/data/r17/mjsps5
