I have a dataset in .txt that I have to import in Stata. I don't have a dictionary file, but I do know the columns and positions of the values in the txt file, so I can create the dictionary file myself. However, I am having trouble: what format should the dictionary file be in? How should I use the infield command to use the dictionary, and how do I state in the dictionary which is the txt file with the data that has to be translated?
