Tabout not working properly on Stata 16

Hi,

I am relatively new to Stata and I wanted to export a one-way frequency table to text document. I tried using tabout but it is giving me unformatted tables. I tried the same example with auto.dta and this is the output I am getting

webuse auto///
tabout foreign using example.txt, replace


Car type No.
Domestic 52.0
Foreign 22.0
Total 74.0


Am I missing something? Thanks for the help!

You just need to import the text file that is created into excel to get your table.

For example, tabout foreign using example.txt, replace style(csv)

The style options aids the formatting, then in excel go to the Data tab, get data from csv and load/transform data into excel.
