Hello stata community ,
For a certain method i need to change my current data set ( IPUMS CPS ASEC ) data ( which is repeated cross section ) to panel data. I know that i can do that by collapsing the data set to cells to make it panel . But, i am not entirely sure which command or the method to do it on stata ?
Besides, since i need a panel id to the estimation i am gonna do , the CPSID variable is not the appropriate variable ( since it’s not unique within year ). can anyone tell me which variable from the cps data is gonna give me the panel id ?
would highly appreciate if someone can suggest me the method or command of doing it ?
