  • Testing for heteroskadasity in unbalanced panal data with frequent gaps

    Dear reader,

First, I want to start off by stating that my name is currently being changed and that I'm quite new to the forum and Stata. I'm currently doing regression in the Fixed Effects panel data model with 75 countries (in 2352 observations) over the time period from 1975 till 2019, but with gaps. I want to test for heteroskadasity by executing the -xtcsd, pesaran- command, however, Stata states that my panel is highly unbalanced and there are not enough common observations across panel to perform Pesaran's test. I thought that the Pesaran's test was appropriate to use when having a unbalanced panel, but I can't find a way to fix it. The reason for missing observations is probably the inclusion of non-OECD countries in my dataset.

I saw that some other topics were started on this problem and couldn't find an appropriate solution for this. How can I solve this problem? Is there another test to test for heteroskadasity which is more appropriate or should I exclude data in order to make my dataset more balanced? Thank you all in advance!
