  • Does a dofile have meta-data (like a word document) that says something about it's creator?

I will upload a dofile for an anonymous submission to a journal. However, I cannot seem to find out (on my Mac) if the dofile or the dataset has any (hidden) meta-data with my name (computer name)?

    Can you help please?

    Thanks in advance!

No, a do-file is a plain-text file. Nothing more, nothing less.

The datafile does have meta-data, wihch aside from information about variables (labels, characteristics, value labels) will have metadata about the dataset itself (notes, characteristics, description) but I'm not aware that there are any identifying information about the particular host system stored within. Why does it matter? If it's simply to stay anonymous for peer-review, I highly doubt anyone would take the time to seek out that information.

Thank you! I just did not want to violate the "author is responsible for submitting anonymous" rule.
