Displaying results in full form - double format

Hi All,

I am using the following command, in stata 13.1

total subsidyamt, over(fiscal_year1)

to calculate the total amount of subsidy provided in each fiscal year, however, the results display the total subsidy amount in their scientific notation, is there a way by which we could display the results in full form integers, FYI, the display needs to be in double format

At present the results are displayed as below

double is a storage or variable type, not a display format.

See the help for total to find that it has a cformat() option, which you can try. In my experience it's often ignored, presumably because there just isn't enough space to honour the request.

That said, if your totals are tens of millions .. billions, then surely the thing to do is change the units, e.g. divide by a million so that what you see are tens ... thousands.

I tried cformat() but it did not work. And, also tried extracting the results into excel, but dividing to change the units was the simplest, also in terms of maintaining precision.
