The user's manual entry for menl beginning on Page 265 of the me volume (Stata Multilevel Mixed-Effects Reference Manual) illustrates the estimation command's use with population pharmacokinetic models. Although recent versions of NONMEM have more bells and whistles, the basic methods and approaches in population pharmacokinetic modeling don't seem all that software package-specific.
