Modifying window locations in Stata 16

I'm guessing I'm missing something super obvious, but I just downloaded Stata 16 to my Mac and would like to move my variables list to the left-hand side of the results window, and for the life of me can't figure out how to do it. When I click on View > Layout > Sidebar, the sidebar is always automatically on the right-hand side of the results window. In previous versions of Stata, I could move around my windows, but can't seem to figure out how to arrange them manually in Stata16. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

I'm facing this same issue in Stata 17 on a Mac. I was using Stata 16 before in Windows and could move the windows in the sidebar to any location and I'm disappointed by the new lack of options.
