  • Crude OR and Adjusted OR

    Hi to everybody.
    I have a dubt.
Below the instrution and part of my stata's output :

    1) logistic gruppoASDHR CBCLEMOTIV2

    groupASDHR odds ratio std.err. z P>|Z| 95% Confidence Interval
    CBCLEMOTIV2 1.83 1.94 0.57 0.568 0.23 14.71
    _cons 0.54 0.19 -1.69 0.091 0.27 1.10
The Crude Odds Ratio is 1.83 (0.23-14.71)

If i wanted to adjusted for sex the instruction and the output would be:

    2) logistic gruppoASDHR CBCLEMOTIV2 sex*

    groupASDHR odds ratio std.err. z P>|Z| 95% Confidence Interval
    CBCLEMOTIV2 1.92 2.07 0.61 0.543 0.23 - 15.91
    sex 1.83 1.28 0.88 0.381 0.47 7.20
    _cons 0.54 0.19 -1.69 0.091 0.27 1.10
WHAT WILL THE ADJUSTED OR BY SEX WILL BE????

AND If i wanted to adjusted for sex and socio-economic-status the instruction and the output would be:

    3) logistic gruppoASDHR CBCLEMOTIV2 sex i.status**
    groupASDHR odds ratio std.err. z P|Z| 95% Confidence Interval
    CBCLEMOTIV2 0.74 0.97 -0.23 0.820 0.057 - 9.30
    sex 2.40 1.77 1.19 0.236 0.564 - 10.246
    status
    1 1 EMPTY
    2 1.80 1.29 0.82 0.410 0.44 - 7.37
    3 1 OMITTED
    _cons 0.10 0.138 -1.70 0.090 0.007 - 1.425

WHAT WILL THE ADJUSTED OR BY SEX AND SOCIO ECONOMIC STATUS WILL BE????

    Thanks a million to everybody

    *sex=1 female; 2 male

This looks like it could be homework. The FAQ states "Please do not post homework questions, and please ignore any that are posted."

If it's not homework, and you would like replies, then you will need to provide more information.

        Dear Paul Dickman,
it's not a homework, i've changed the question but nobody answer me anyway.

        My doubt is:
        Hi to everybody.
I hope that anybody can help me!!
I've calculated a crude OR. and I obtained a certain value.
I would like to calculate an adjusted OR (adjusted by sex; 1=male, 0=female and by socio economic status (1=low, 2=medium; 3=high)
I've run the model and I 've this output

gruppoASDHR | Odds Ratio Std. Err. z P>|z| [95% Conf. Interval]
        -------------+----------------------------------------------------------------
        CBCLEMOTIV2 | .656295 .8667537 -0.32 0.750 .0493102 8.734969
        sesso_num | 2.766531 2.092329 1.35 0.178 .628306 12.18147
        status |
        1 | 1 (empty)
        2 | 2.140739 1.581815 1.03 0.303 .5030392 9.110151
        3 | 1 (omitted)

What can I do? Is it correct to report the OR adjusted value, even if, adjusting for status , i have for level 1 "empty" and for level 3 "omitted"???

        Thanks to everybody

        ps
however, I was looking at posts posted by other people (very similar to homework) and I noticed that unlike me they got an answer ... It's not controversy I would just like help please.
